She helps you loose it, then she helps you get it back

I must admit we have some very sharp anonymouses (or is that anonymice) in our midst. Yep one picked up the email address of Carole Gardiner and traced it back to the following website (thanks anonymous you are a star):
Man oh man, isn't this reality of ours fun: first she helps you loose it, then she helps you return back to normal - at a price of course. No wonder that they say that the archetype of a clown is usually a sad one.

And yes, the lady responded to my somewhat heavy-handed answer to her letter:

Believe me, I can say a lot, but I do not intend to make this blog a slanging match between myself and anybody else. However, permit me:
  • Your phone conversation with me was disdainful, arrogant, ignorant of the facts, unhelpful and plain rude. If 2000 Cape Townians like your style, well that is their prerogative - they can always turn to the mountain for guidance.
  • Based on that experience, I never intended to have a 'clear line of communication' with you. I don't think you had anything sensible to contribute then and especially not now at this point - and it shows.
  • Again you ignore the plight of the 4000 investors, that you and your friends undressed, and focus all the attention on yourself - self-pity it is called, a convenient way of drawing the attention away from realities.
  • There still may be plenty of opportunity for you to defend yourself in time to come. Nobody demands that of you at this moment.
  • You totally ignore all the shameless lies, untruths, and deceptions that were perpetrated by you and your masters - while you were there and afterwards. Much of it recorded on paper and disseminated to the public. Nowhere do any of the pardoners, apologize for the serious ride we were taken for, but the merely want to do business as before, as if nothing happened - 'trade ourselves out of trouble." Hum-hum.
  • Two quotes from your letters, juxtaposed: "It’s a great pity as you may have gained some useful insight into the issue..." and "in the absence of being privy to any rescue plan and for the sake of the Edwafin investors". Now what really are you telling us? Are all those investors you spoke about now no longer on the horizon? Were you actually fibbing yesterday??? Our most important insight is that Edwafin squandered R200 million of our money. Now that is a useful insight.
Jechchi ... conversation is over. Good luck with the new venture, hopefully it will bring you fortunes.

Further responses from Gardiner will be published but not responded to by me.

1. Open a clear line of communication. (lawyers will soon take advantage of the clear line)
2. Feed your imagination. (More like piss you off more)
3. 2 complaints (wonder who the other person is?)
3. Privy to rescue plan. (A secret plan)
4. In order to protect investors capital investments. (really?)
5. 2,000 calls ÷ 10 weeks/50 working days = 40 happy calls per day
6. Yes! things are really great. (not for very much longer)

What a load of bull! sounds like she is more involved in saving her arse and whatever investments the Gardner family made, if any.

It might be a good idea to get a "Gardiner family" members take on this?

Or even better enlist a few of the 2,000 happy chatty investors to join the class action - who I may add will be contacted by CG for the new "LIFESTYLE BOUNCE BACK" service on offer. I hope you send her a bill for the advertising.

Gee how scary is this? Ms Gardiner is a debt counsellor? Firstly don't you need to be registered with National Credit Regulator? I didn't see her name on the list of registered debt counsellors. Secondly debt counsellors take the poor soul's entire income and pays off debt - hopefully!!! Unless, like in a recent Carte Blanche episode the debts never get paid and the debt counsellor's explain away the missing money by quoting admin fees. MMMMMmmm all this sounds quite familiar.

Let me say this...has no one stopped to smell the coffe, which started to burn a long time ago!!Ms Gardiner may be doing debt counseling now, but she has all along been doing it for Edwafin. It works like this..if someone has debt for lets say 50k, and they have 100k equity in their home loan, Ms Gardiner accesses the equity of 100k,(through her cronies) pays off the clients 50k debt, deducts the admin/commission fees of course, the balance is invested in a Edwafin Debenture at 18% interest pa. Edwafin pays the interest on the investment directly into the clients home loan Yippee!! the client is now debt free, (or so they think),they will have 50k after the 5year debenture matures, that is of course if, and only IF Edwafin continues to pay the monthly debenture interest!(which we know they have stopped doing, this is what has caused this whole debarcle in the first place)..I am very suprised Mario, that no one has informed you of this, Edwafin has been doing this for a few years now. Although I suppose it will all only come to light now, knowing who Ms Gardiner works for, and what she does. Home Owners please BEWARE.
Currently Edwafin have a few clients who have invested this way, and are in the process of losing their homes.

I know for a fact that, some of the consultants lost their jobs, because they didnt approve of selling this type of investment to clients, because their clients homes would be on the line if the interest wasnt paid by Edwafin.

Carole Gardiner is not an approved Debt Counsellor - there is a strict qualification and professional verification and examination process to be undergone by the individual. I do not see an NCR logo anywhere on her site, and she hasn't referred to herself as a Debt Counsellor. She is also, as previous anonomous mentioned, not listed on the National Register of licensed counsellors. If she is marketing herself as a Financial Advisor or Debt Counsellor then the NCR or FAIS Ombudsman need to be advised, and she will be prosecuted for working under false and unlawful pretenses.
The process described by previous anonamous is NOT Debt Counselling, and it is shameful that a horrible unqualified, uncertified, unregistered and unskilled crook would use a very viable and ethical Debt resolution process to hide her theft and blatant non-disclosure.

Believe me as long as the authorities tasked with protecting the investor sit around and twiddle their thumbs by doing nothing and allowing this to happen over and over again, there will be more PS, DH, BK & CG on the horizon to take advantage of the pathetic financial controls we have here in South Africa.

Looks like CG is starting Edwafin II in the background this maybe her rescue plan??

Wow, what furtive imaginations you all have regarding my previous and my current occupation! It only takes the Ringmaster a flick of his whip and everyone else is performing on cue.

The contents of the comments couldn't be further removed from the truth, but hey I certainly wont be the one to bring you up to speed.

Wallow, (especially you Mario) all you like in the hype and speculation.Yes hype, puffery, call it what you will.
There is no dirt on me and I will prove it, watch this space...that's if you care to be proved wrong and yes, in the absence of anything else profound in your lives.

It's been over a week and I'm still watching & waiting in anticipation...

Hope CG is okay or has the cat got her tongue??
